Awards of Merit

1. MEDAL AND DIPLOMA, presented by THE FRUITERERS' COMPANY, will be awarded to the exhibit in the Cherry Classes which has the greatest merit having regard to all the circumstances.

2. MEDAL AND DIPLOMA, presented by THE FRUITERERS' COMPANY, will be awarded to the exhibit in the Soft Fruit Classes which has the Greatest merit having regard to all the circumstances.

3. THE ST. MICHAEL CUP, presented by Marks & Spencer Plc for the best basket of Cherries combining outstanding flavour and appearance. Trophy to be held by the winner for one year only.

Championship Awards for Points

4. CHALLENGE BOWL, presented by J.P. FRUIT DISTRIBUTORS LTD., Ambley Road, Gillingham, Kent, will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest number of points in all classes. The Bowl will be held by the winner for one year only.

5. CHALLENGE CUP, presented by FRANCIS NICHOLLS GROUP, will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the second highest number of points in all classes. The Cup to be held by the winner for one year only.

6. CHALLENGE BOWL, presented by the FYFFES GROUP, will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest number of points in Division 1 (Classes 1-16 inclusive). The Bowl to be held by the winners for one year only.

7. CHALLENGE CUP, presented by T.G.REDSELL LTD., Nash Court, Boughton, Faversham, will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest number of points in Division 2. The cup to become the property of the exhibitor winning it three times in succession.

8. CHALLENGE CUP, presented by ALFRED SHREAD LTD, will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest number of points in all Soft Fruit Classes ie, 28 to 46. The cup to be held by the winner for one year only.

9. MICK BEECH MEMORIAL CUP awarded to the exhibitor gaining the highest points in classes 28 – 41 and 50 – 51. The cup to be held for one year only.

Only one of the same variety in any one class to score.

NOTE: for the purpose of the above awards a 1st Prize will count as 4 points, a 2nd Prize will count as 3 points, a 3rd Prize will count as 2 points and Highly Commended 1 point.

Championship Exibit Cherries

10. CHAMPION BASKET, CHALLENGE CUP, presented by the SITTINGBOURNE, FAVERSHAM & DISTRICT FRUIT GROWERS' ASSOCIATION, as a memento of its work and existence for many years and to commemorate its fusion with the National Farmers' Union, will be awarded for the best basket or container of cherries in the show. The Cup to be held by the winner for one year only.

11. PETER LAWRENCE MEMORIAL TROPHY, presented by SHELLSTAR LTD. will be awarded for the best exhibit of cherries. The Trophy will be held by the winner for one year only.

12. BATES OF ASH TROPHY – Best exhibit of Black Cherries. The Trophy to be held by the winner for one year only.

13. CHALLENGE SALVER, presented by MESSRS. B.D. & C.D. NEAME, to perpetuate the memory of the late Sir Thomas Neame, will be awarded for the best Basket of White Cherries. The Trophy to be held by the winner for one year only.

14. CHALLENGE CUP, presented by PETER BLACK LTD., will be awarded for the best exhibit in Class 9 or 17. The cup to be held by the winner for one year only.

15. JIM WORLEY CHALLENGE CUP for the best basket of late black Cherries. Any variety to be officially named. The cup to be held by the winner for one year only.

16. CHALLENGE CUP, presented by the late ROBERT MITCHELL, will be awarded for the best exhibit of cherries in Division 2. The Cup to be held by the winner for one year only.
